Fundis has signed a partnership agreement with Helsinki Rescue Association Helpe!
Helsinki Rescue Association Helpe is the umbrella organization for registered rescue and civil defense associations operating in Helsinki. Helpe is a training organization that trains volunteers for rescue duties and provides residents and communities with safety skills for home and everyday life to improve the residential safety environment.
The war in Ukraine has sparked interest among residents in self-preparedness and civil defense, which Helpe provides training for across various target groups. Safety briefings and training for residents and housing communities have been in high demand. Training events held in recent years for seniors, people with disabilities, those from immigrant backgrounds, and other special groups have also been enthusiastically received. Helpe works with authorities to attract young people at risk of social exclusion to a constructive and free fire brigade hobby.
Helpe also trains local contract fire brigades (VPK) to serve as an important reserve for rescue authorities in both normal and exceptional circumstances. Helpe’s training activities improve societal preparedness and resilience and are a vital link in the national comprehensive security chain. Furthermore, these activities strengthen people’s sense of security, which has been weakened by news of the war.
