Fundis and Jani Sievinen Begin Collaboration – A Shared Goal: Making Sports Support Part of Everyday Life

Legendary Finnish swimmer Jani Sievinen and Fundis have launched a collaboration with one clear mission: to make supporting Finnish sports and youth hobbies a natural part of everyday life.
The world of sports is facing challenging times. Costs are rising, and many clubs are struggling to secure sufficient funding. The shared vision between Fundis and Jani is simple and powerful: to support sports, children, and young people easily, responsibly, and without unnecessary bureaucracy.
Fundis offers a payment app that enables anyone to support their club or community without any additional cost simply by making everyday purchases at participating businesses.
Jani Sievinen fully stands behind the Fundis concept:
Sponsorships and government funding for athletes have been cut to the minimum, and the situation is really difficult. Participation fees have increased enormously for many reasons. Swimming used to be an inexpensive sport, but nowadays it can easily cost 200 euros per month, plus equipment.
What inspired me about Fundis was how easy it is to use, and that users can choose exactly what they want to support—without it costing anything. I also liked the ambition and the plans to take this Finnish innovation to the world. We are in desperate need of success stories, both in sports and beyond.
Fundis founder Juha Markkanen sees the partnership as a natural next step in the company’s mission and growth:
Working with Jani feels like a natural continuation of Fundis’ journey. It is a tremendous honor to have someone of his caliber join us—someone who truly represents the core values Fundis is built on: perseverance, community, and the desire to do good.
This is not just a contract for us. It is a shared mission to make supporting Finnish sports and youth hobbies easier and more impactful than ever before.
The collaboration with Jani brings Fundis closer to its long-term goal: building a model through which sports and communities can be supported sustainably and continuously— not just through temporary campaigns or seasonal efforts, but as part of everyday choices.
This marks the beginning of a shared journey toward a future where supporting Finnish sports is as natural as going to the grocery store.
